Senior Associate – Restructuring Advisory

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join a growing restructuring advisory team in New York. This is an opportunity to work across a broad range of complex restructuring, liability management, and special situations engagements while partnering directly with senior professionals and clients.

Unlike many restructuring opportunities that focus primarily on investing or distressed asset management, this position is a financial advisory role
. The successful candidate will work as a generalist across both debtor-side engagements and official unsecured creditors' committee advisory assignments
, gaining exposure to a diverse mix of industries, capital structures, and transaction types.

Senior Associates take on increasing responsibility for financial analysis, valuation, modeling, client deliverables, and transaction execution while mentoring junior team members and interacting directly with clients, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders.

• Build and maintain complex financial models, including liquidity analyses, business plans, recovery analyses, and valuation models.
• Analyze capital structures, debt documents, operating performance, and restructuring alternatives.
• Support both debtor-side and unsecured creditors' committee engagements throughout the restructuring process.
• Prepare presentations, board materials, creditor communications, and marketing materials.
• Conduct industry, company, and financial research.
• Participate in meetings with management teams, lenders, investors, attorneys, and other advisors.
• Assist with transaction execution, due diligence, and strategic analyses across multiple concurrent engagements.
• Mentor Analysts and review work product while taking increasing ownership of engagement deliverables.

Candidates should possess one of the following:

• 1-3 years of restructuring advisory experience
  , or
• Experience in a closely related field
  , including distressed investing, leveraged finance, high-yield credit, turnaround consulting, or other relevant special situations work, or
• 3+ years of finance experience demonstrating a strong interest and aptitude for restructuring, or
• An MBA, JD, or CFA with at least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced advisory environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFA designation is a plus.

Senior Associates are typically considered for promotion to Associate Director
, the firm's core research and analytical leadership role, within 18-36 months based on performance and demonstrated leadership.
