Position: Senior Credit Risk Analyst (Commodities)
Location: New York

A global trading firm is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to support credit risk management activities across the Americas. This individual will partner closely with front-office teams and senior leadership to evaluate counter parties, support business growth initiatives, and strengthen risk management frameworks within a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform credit analysis and risk assessments for existing and prospective counter parties.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, market expansion initiatives, and transaction structures alongside commercial teams.
  • Develop and enhance credit risk frameworks, methodologies, and monitoring processes.
  • Provide risk recommendations and insights to support business and credit decisions.
  • Monitor counter party and portfolio exposures across multiple risk dimensions.
  • Prepare risk reporting and presentations for management committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Support governance, compliance, and risk oversight activities.
  • Manage credit risk mitigation tools, including insurance and other forms of protection.
  • Partner with technology and analytics teams to improve risk systems, reporting, and data capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of credit risk experience within trading, capital markets, commodities, or financial services environments.
  • Strong credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and risk assessment skills.
  • Experience evaluating counter party risk and managing exposures in a dynamic market environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with front-office personnel and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
