PIMCO is seeking a Private Strategies ("CRE acquisitions") Analyst/Associate to join the US PIMCO CRE Equity team who will be split between acquisitions of new properties and structured opportunities and asset management of existing CRE assets for various PIMCO investment vehicles.
The firm's US real estate team sources, underwrites, and invests in private and public real estate opportunities, including direct real estate, equity joint ventures, mezzanine financing, commercial mortgage-backed securities, and other real estate related investments. The team benefits from a flexible pool of capital with the ability to invest across asset types, geographies, and the capital structure.
The Analyst/Associate will primarily work closely with members of the CRE Equity team to underwrite and execute new acquisitions and drive performance, enhance value, realize asset business plans, and maximize returns for the existing portfolio.

** Responsibilities
* ** Assist senior team members in underwriting and managing the development, execution, and status update of business plans, including extensions, refinancing, and dispositions.
* Maintain thorough understanding of all allocated business plans and manage complex investment and valuation models for various positions within the portfolio.
* Prepare Investment Committee memos and presentations for new acquisitions and business plan executions with scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
* Prepare periodic valuations of individual CRE assets and compile portfolio roll-ups and performance metrics for both internal and external reporting.
* Support sale and refi processes including engaging brokers, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, managing due diligence, and closing.
* Interface with Risk and Portfolio Management, Finance, and other departments to ensure holistic execution of investment objectives.
* Assist senior members of the team in relationship management with operators, JV partners, and service providers.
* Work collaboratively and proactively with team members to ensure consistent high-quality work and efficient executions.
* Contribute to culture of excellence and team mentality of proactive risk mitigation and focused value creation.
** Position Requirements
*** 1-4 years of relevant investment banking, real estate operator, finance/accounting, or real estate private equity experience preferred.
* Asset-level underwriting, valuation, asset management or real estate sponsor-developer/accounting backgrounds preferred.
* Experience across all asset classes, ideally including multifamily, industrial, student housing, retail, hotel, and office.
* Strong financial modelling skills, proficiency in Argus, and writing abilities required.
* Attention to detail with superior organizational and time management skills.
* Exceptional work ethic and integrity; candidate should be a team player who is proactive and is a leader.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Strong academic credentials and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
* Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors.
