A private family office is seeking an experienced public equities investor to assume responsibility for an established ~$60MM long/short equity portfolio focused on SMID-cap technology companies. The portfolio is highly concentrated, typically consisting of 10-15 core positions, and is managed with a fundamental, high-conviction investment approach focused on generating attractive risk-adjusted returns over time.
The successful candidate will inherit an existing book and be responsible for driving portfolio performance, generating differentiated long and short investment ideas, and managing capital with a high degree of autonomy. The investment mandate targets 10-15% annualized net returns through disciplined stock selection and risk management.
Ideal Background:
- 7-15+ years of experience in long/short equity investing, equity research, or portfolio management.
- Deep expertise covering technology sectors and business models.
- Demonstrated success generating both long and short investment ideas.
- Strong understanding of small and mid-cap equities.
- Ability to build and manage a concentrated portfolio with conviction.
- Exceptional fundamental research, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
