Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Overview/Purpose

The Treasury & Financial Systems Analyst will assist the Head of Treasury in managing the daily, monthly, and annual financial operations of organizations supported by the Treasury Operations group. This role supports the organization's day-to-day treasury and cash operations while serving as the department's internal technology builder. This is a deliberately hybrid role: roughly half the work is core treasury execution - forecasting, reconciliation, and cash application - and the other half is designing and building the tools, models, and small-scale applications that make that work faster and more accurate.

All responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with the religious, moral, and ethical principles of the Catholic Church.

Reports to: Head of Treasury

Work Location: 488 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022

Key Responsibilities Treasury & Financial Operations (~40%)
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash forecasts across multiple programs and funding sources
  • Perform daily reconciliation of prior-day cash activity across bank accounts
  • Execute daily cash application of prior-day receipts and resolve exceptions
  • Build and maintain complex Excel models and reporting workbooks to support treasury and broader business needs
  • Partner with the Head of Treasury on liquidity reporting and ad hoc analysis
Application & Tool Development (~40%)
  • Design, build, and maintain small-scale internal web applications and utilities that address specific business needs
  • Translate finance and operations requirements into working software, including UI, data handling, and validation logic
  • Maintain, update and improve existing internal tools, including documentation and user support
  • Automate recurring manual workflows currently handled through spreadsheets or manual data entry
Process & Technology Improvement (~20%)
  • Research and evaluate technologies with potential application to finance and business operations, including AI tooling, ERP capabilities, and third-party automation platforms
  • Produce recommendations on build-vs-buy decisions, with attention to integration requirements and total cost
  • Serve as a working liaison between the Treasury/Finance function and technical stakeholders or vendors
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to modernize existing processes, including data transfers between platforms and implementation of new ERP
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in treasury, cash management, accounting, financial operations, or a comparable analytical finance role
  • Advanced Excel proficiency: complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, structured data models, and building workbooks intended for repeated use by others
  • Demonstrated ability to build working software — internal tools, scripts, web applications, or automations. This may come from professional experience, coursework, personal projects, or a portfolio; a computer science degree is not required, but evidence of shipped work is
  • Solid grasp of front-end and back-end design and coding principles — how a user interface, application logic, and data layer fit together — with the ability to build and maintain small web applications
  • Familiarity with version control (Git)
  • Strong written communication and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical finance stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and comfort owning daily deadline-driven deliverables
  • A learning mindset and adaptability — this role sits at the intersection of finance and fast-moving technology, and the tools, systems, and priorities will change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Odoo, or with ERP implementation, configuration, or data migration generally
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems and their reporting and integration capabilities
  • Familiarity with banking portals, payment file formats (ACH/NACHA, wire, lockbox), or bank reporting standards
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot) or agentic coding workflows
  • Exposure to SQL for data extraction and reporting
  • Experience evaluating or implementing a finance technology vendor
  • Cash applications: legacy Microsoft Access-based system, transitioning to Odoo

Compensation range for this position is: $80,000 - $100,000 annually.

This position is considered exempt and not eligible for overtime.
