A leading global investment firm is seeking a Middle Office Operations Associate to join its Operations team in New York. This individual will play a key role in supporting the daily trade lifecycle, partnering closely with Trading, Portfolio Management, Technology, Finance, Risk, and external counter parties to ensure accurate and timely trade processing.

Key Responsibilities- Manage the full trade lifecycle from execution through settlement across multiple asset classes.
- Monitor daily trading activity to ensure timely trade capture, affirmation, allocation, and settlement.
- Investigate and resolve trade exceptions, reconciliation breaks, and settlement issues.
- Coordinate with brokers, custodians, counter parties, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational inquiries.
- Perform daily cash, position, and transaction reconciliations.
- Support corporate actions, lifecycle events, and other operational processes as needed.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
- Partner with Technology and Operations leadership to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
- Produce management reporting and assist with operational metrics and KPI tracking.
- Participate in strategic initiatives, platform enhancements, system testing, and new business implementations.
- Assist with ad hoc projects supporting business growth and operational scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 3-8+ years of middle office, operations, trade support, or investment operations experience.
- Experience supporting one or more asset classes such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, futures, or other financial products.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and post-trade operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; exposure to SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across front office and infrastructure teams.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Hedge fund, investment bank, asset manager, or broker-dealer experience.
- Knowledge of DTCC, NSCC, DTC, SWIFT, or other market utilities.
- Experience with reconciliation platforms, OMS/EMS systems, and operational workflow tools.
- Exposure to process automation or operational transformation initiatives.
