TheOpportunity
We are seeking an Associate to join the New York Private Capital Advisory team, working across GP-led and LP-led secondaries, co-investment, and primary fundraising mandates. This is a high-exposure opportunity for a commercially minded candidate to sit at the intersection of M&A-style asset diligence and fund-level structuring. Working directly with Directors, Managing Directors, and the group's leadership, you will own the analytical engine of live transactions while engaging directly with sponsors and institutional investors.
Key Responsibilities- Build and own transaction models across single-asset and multi-asset continuation vehicles, including LBO and returns analysis, fund-level cash flow modelling, NAV analysis, and waterfall and carry mechanics.
- Lead preparation of marketing materials, including teasers, investor presentations, management presentations, and data rooms, synthesising complex portfolio and fund data into clear investment narratives.
- Manage secondary buyer and LP outreach end to end, coordinating diligence work streams, Q&A, and third-party advisors through to close.
- Conduct asset-level and portfolio-level diligence across sectors, assessing performance, exit dynamics, and valuation to support pricing and structuring recommendations.
- Support origination through sponsor coverage, screening of GP-led opportunities, and preparation of pitch materials, while mentoring and reviewing the work of analysts.
- 2 to 4 years of investing experience. We are prioritising candidates from private equity, secondaries, co-investment, or fund investing, who have underwritten assets and taken positions to an investment committee.
- Direct exposure to GP-led secondaries, continuation vehicles, LP portfolio sales, strip sales, or tender offers is a strong advantage. Candidates from a sponsor-focused M&A or leveraged finance background with genuine underwriting reps will also be considered.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities at both company level and fund level. LBO modelling is assumed. Familiarity with fund structures, LPAs, distribution waterfalls, and private markets performance metrics is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to run multiple live work streams independently under transaction deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the credibility to engage sponsors, institutional investors, and senior internal stakeholders.
- Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Based in New York, or relocating. This is an on-site role.
- Join one of the fastest-growing areas of private markets, with GP-led secondaries and fund-level liquidity solutions continuing to expand as sponsors seek alternatives to traditional exits.
- Work within an established platform of 30+ professionals across the US and Europe, with three co-heads and a deep senior bench.
- Benefit from proprietary deal flow generated through the bank's own sponsor coverage and M&A franchise, rather than competing for mandates cold.
- Broad transaction exposure across continuation vehicles, fund restructurings, strip sales, tender offers, co-investment, and primary fundraising.
- Highly competitive compensation within a respected, high-performing organisation, with clear progression and genuine senior visibility from day one.
