Equity Research Associate​/VP – Consumer Staples – Food Retail & Packaged Food

Overview

Senior Equity Research Associate or Vice President to join the Consumer team in the New York office, with a focus on Consumer Staples – Food Retail & Packaged Food. The role involves developing and marketing all equity research products, working closely with the senior analyst and team members. Requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

• Building and maintaining detailed company models (IS/BS/CF)
• Analyzing financial statements and news related to industry coverage
• Conducting store, channel checks, pricing studies and market share analysis
• Analyzing company filings (10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases) and company transcripts
• Writing equity research reports and formulating investment theses
• Participation in site visits and management meetings
• Maintaining and analyzing industry data, including in-depth analysis of Circana data
• Communicating investment recommendations to internal and external clients

• Combination of writing skills, technical knowledge, industry experience, and finance skills in equity research, finance or accounting
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Client service mindset and ability to prioritize client needs with accuracy
• Ability to interact professionally with company management teams and clients (analysts and portfolio managers)
• Keen interest in and demonstrated understanding of Equity Research
• Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, quick learning, and strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage a heavy workload and meet stringent deadlines
• Flexibility to work irregular and extended hours
• Solid technology skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and/or Fact Set
• Demonstrated use of AI in the workplace
• CFA is a plus

Bachelor’s degree is required. A post-secondary degree in a related field is a plus. U.S. only.

Senior Research Associate Base Salary Range: $150,000 up to $180,000 USD. VP, Equity Research Base Salary Range: $200,000 up to $250,000 USD. Salaries vary by location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated. Compensation may include performance-based incentives and other rewards. Total compensation packages may include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
