Overview

Our New York office is looking for an Investment Banking Associate to join the Healthcare Group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with clients across the healthcare industry on a wide range of complex transactions including strategic advisory assignments and executions of public and private capital markets transactions. The role requires advanced technical skills including expertise in all forms of modeling related to strategic advisory and capital markets transactions.

The successful candidate will work closely with professionals throughout the firm to deliver high quality advice to clients and will play an important role on a team of high-performing industry professionals who encourage taking on meaningful responsibility on some of the most important transactions in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Support and execute strategic advisory assignments and capital markets transactions (public and private) within the Healthcare Group.
  • Develop and apply financial models related to all relevant transactions.
  • Collaborate with professionals across the firm to deliver high quality client advice.
  • Contribute to deal execution and due diligence processes under guidance of senior bankers.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience within the investment banking industry as an Analyst and Associate, or an MBA, with a proven track record working on executed deals across M&A and various industry sectors.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting financial statements.
  • Experience modeling related to all relevant transactions.
  • Strong teambuilding skills.
  • High level of motivation and commitment to working hard.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA, CA and/or CFA designation would be an asset.
  • Series licensing or must obtain.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is part of the total compensation package, which may include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive programs, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
