Weight Watchers is a global digital health company.

Weight Watchers is a global digital health company and the world’s #1 doctor-recommended, clinically studied behavioral weight health program. For sixty years, we have led the industry by blending science and community to help millions of people build sustainable healthy habits.

As the science of weight health rapidly evolves, so does Weight Watchers. We are redefining the category by developing new clinical pathways for GLP-1 medication access
, creating specialized behavioral programs for members on weight-loss medications, and integrating medical care with our proven habit-change framework. By combining these clinical breakthroughs with our digital-first community, we are uniquely positioned to lead the future of weight health care.

WHO WE ARE

The Weight Watchers Finance Team serves as a core driver of the company's business success. This team of experienced financial professionals leverages data analytics and best practices to deliver insightful financial reporting and analysis. These contributions empower strategic decision-making across the organization, ensuring the company's financial health and sustainability.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a sharp, self-sufficient Tax Manager to join our lean, high-impact Finance team. As one of two members of the tax function, you will work closely with our Director of Tax to manage all aspects of corporate tax compliance, planning, and advisory — and you will be deeply hands‑on in the work itself. There is no team to delegate to;

we are looking for someone who rolls up their sleeves, owns their work streams end-to-end, and thrives in a fast-moving, build-as-you-go environment.

This is a unique opportunity to have broad exposure across the full tax function at a growing tech health company — and to help shape the infrastructure and processes that will scale with us.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Prepare and review federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments — doing the work directly, not just reviewing others' output.
  • Own the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740) including current and deferred tax calculations, uncertain tax positions, and financial statement disclosures.
  • Coordinate with and manage external tax advisors, Big 4 firms, and outside counsel — driving their work and ensuring quality and timeliness while keeping costs in check.
  • Support the Director of Tax in developing and executing tax planning strategies that reduce the company's effective tax rate and manage risk across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Research and analyze the tax implications of business initiatives, new product launches, contracts, and corporate transactions, and communicate findings clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of changes to federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, and proactively flag issues or opportunities to the Director of Tax and Finance leadership.
  • Support federal and state tax audits, including preparing responses, gathering documentation, and coordinating with external advisors and tax authorities.
  • Help build and maintain internal tax policies, controls, and process documentation to support a scalable, audit-ready tax function.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, FP&A, and HR on tax-sensitive matters including equity compensation (RSUs, ISOs, NSOs), payroll tax, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Contribute to tax due diligence and structuring support on M&A transactions and corporate development activities as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and tax technology tools to drive efficiency across compliance and provision workflows.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5–8 years of corporate tax experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have both Big 4 public accounting and in-house experience.
  • Deep, hands-on technical expertise in U.S. federal and multi-state income tax compliance and ASC 740 tax provisions — you have personally prepared and reviewed complex returns, not just managed others doing so.
  • CPA required; MST or JD a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight…
