The US Tax Manager will play a key role in building and scaling ANV's tax function, supporting federal, state, and local tax compliance, income tax accounting, tax planning initiatives, and tax-related aspects of acquisitions and legal entity structuring.
Reporting to the VP, Head of Global Tax, this role will partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, HR, and external advisors to ensure timely compliance with tax regulations while supporting ANV's business objectives and growth strategy. The successful candidate will possess strong technical tax expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
This position can also be hybrid-based out of Orlando, FL.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance
- Manage the preparation and filing of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Oversee quarterly estimated tax payments and extension filings.
- Coordinate with external tax service providers on compliance and reporting activities.
- Support sales and use tax, premium tax, franchise tax, and other indirect tax compliance requirements as applicable.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess implications for ANV's businesses.
Income Tax Accounting (ASC 740)
- Assist with the quarterly and annual tax provision process under ASC 740.
- Prepare supporting calculations for current and deferred tax provisions.
- Maintain tax basis schedules and deferred tax inventories.
- Support effective tax rate analyses and documentation of uncertain tax positions.
- Partner with Controllership and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Acquisition & Integration Support
- Participate in tax due diligence efforts for acquisitions.
- Assist with purchase accounting and tax-related integration activities.
- Support analysis of tax attributes, exposures, and opportunities associated with acquired businesses.
- Develop and maintain tax compliance calendars and control frameworks.
- Ensure proper documentation of tax positions and compliance activities.
- Assist with tax notices, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency within the tax function.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Legal, HR, and Operational leadership teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on routine tax matters affecting ANV's U.S. businesses.
- Support special projects as assigned by the VP, Head of Global Tax.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Master's in Taxation (MST) preferred.
- CPA preferred.
Experience
- 5+years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax departments.
- Experience with federal and multi-state income tax compliance.
- Experience supporting ASC 740 income tax accounting.
- Insurance, MGA, broker, financial services, or multinational corporate experience preferred.
- Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws.
- Working knowledge of ASC 740 and related tax accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (Workday experience, preferred)
- Experience with tax compliance and provision software preferred.
- Ability to analyze complex tax matters and communicate conclusions effectively.
