About SCP

Sustainable Credit Partners (SCP) is a senior-secured commercial real estate credit platform originating first-mortgage bridge and transitional loans of $10 to $100 million against middle-market real assets, with third-party-verified building performance embedded in every credit. The platform was co-founded with Climate First Bank, an FDIC-insured founding equity partner, and Green Gen, whose engineering underpins our underwriting. SCP is capitalizing a private green mortgage REIT targeting a multi-billion-dollar loan book, with a rated CRE CLO program modeled from inception.

The

Mandate

SCP has established two proprietary strategies at the intersection of real estate and the energy transition:
Powered Land
(lending against parcels with secured grid interconnection rights, anchored by contracted energy and mobility tenants) and Powered Shell
(financing the conversion of well-located commercial buildings into grid-interactive, compute-ready assets). Our first powered credit is credit-approved. These strategies currently operate as a capped pilot within the portfolio but with this hire will elevate themselves in priority.

What You Will Do
  • Originate. Build and own a pipeline of powered land and powered shell first mortgages ($10 to $100 million) through direct relationships with energy and mobility developers, data center and edge compute operators, utilities, land owners, and the brokerage community. Bring transactions from sourcing through term sheet, credit approval, and closing.
  • Set the credit standard. Author SCP's powered credit template: interconnection and utility service diligence, anchor lease and tenant credit analysis, tenant-funded equipment structures, future-funding and construction draw mechanics, land-plus-power residual valuation, and appropriate LTV, DSCR, and reserve standards for pre-stabilization collateral.
  • Solve the leverage question. Develop the market for financing powered collateral: warehouse lines, bank participations, and the path to rated securitization. Build the comparable-transaction library that lets SCP price this paper with conviction.
  • Underwrite. Lead underwriting and credit memoranda for all powered transactions, present to the investment committee, and manage third-party diligence including engineering, interconnection studies, appraisal, and environmental review, working alongside Green Gen and our verification partners.
  • Manage the book. Oversee draws, covenants, milestones, and lease-up performance across the powered portfolio, and feed verified performance data back into underwriting and investor reporting.
  • Support the platform. Represent the powered strategies in capital-raising diligence, contribute market intelligence to portfolio strategy and allocation decisions, and help the broader team build fluency in energy-adjacent credit.
What You Bring
  • 10+ years in commercial real estate credit, including transitional, construction, or heavy value-add lending, with a personal record of originating and closing $250 million or more.
  • Direct transaction experience in energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, or adjacent asset classes: data centers, EV charging and fleet electrification, distributed energy, battery storage, or utility-scale development. You have underwritten interconnection risk, power contracts, or behind-the-meter economics, or can demonstrate equivalent fluency.
  • A live network among the developers, operators, utilities, and intermediaries who control powered deal flow.
  • Working knowledge of CRE warehouse finance and securitization, and the judgment to know what rating agencies and CLO investors will and will not accept.
  • Rigorous credit instincts, clean financial modeling, and the ability to write a memorandum an investment committee can rely on.
  • The builder's temperament: comfortable being the first person in the seat, setting standards rather than inheriting them, and defending your underwriting to sophisticated institutional investors.
What SCP Offers

Competitive compensation and performance bonus, participation in platform economics commensurate with a founding-team seat, and the opportunity to define an asset class inside a purpose-built vehicle with committed institutional capital, verified impact at its core, and a clear path to scale. This is a 1099 position.

Sustainable Credit Partners is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
