Location: New York

A leading private equity firm is seeking a Vice President to join its investment team in New York
, focused on investments across the Industrials sector.

This is a senior investing role for an experienced private equity professional who can lead transactions from origination through execution and portfolio value creation, while developing deep expertise across industrial technology, HVAC, mechanical systems, and related services.

Qualifications

  • 6-10+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or a closely related investing role.
  • Demonstrated experience executing and underwriting control or significant minority investments.
  • Strong Industrials investing experience; direct exposure to HVAC, mechanical contracting, building systems, engineered products, or adjacent markets strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and transaction execution skills.
  • Proven ability to develop differentiated investment theses and assess market dynamics, competitive positioning, and management teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and investment partners.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred, though not required.
  • High intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute private equity investments across Industrials, with an emphasis on heavy HVAC, mechanical systems, engineered products, and related services.
  • Evaluate new investment opportunities, including market analysis, competitive positioning, financial modeling, valuation, and investment thesis development.
  • Drive transaction execution across due diligence, financing, legal documentation, management meetings, and investment committee processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with executives, investment bankers, intermediaries, advisors, lenders, and industry experts.
  • Partner with portfolio company management teams to identify and execute growth, operational improvement, M&A, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to ongoing value-creation planning.
  • Mentor and develop junior investment professionals.
