Engineering Lead | Equities Derivatives Technology | Executive Director

We're seeking someone to join our team as an Engineering Lead in ESTAR to lead the development of our next generation applications for intraday risk management and scenario analysis for the global Equity trading business.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is an Executive Director position within the RV2 team with senior individual contributor and product lead responsibilities.

You will be in constant communication with all stakeholders to shape the future direction of the product.

You will personally contribute to the development of the product.

You will manage the team’s delivery.

You will coordinate with the rest of the Equity Risk Systems department and the ongoing renovation projects to ensure that the platform goals are met.

Ability to foster productive relationships with a global trading desk.

Ability to lead the team through engineering challenges.

Experience in dealing with complicated and conflicting requirements and scheduling and reconciling them.

Experience in large scale distributed systems development, on modern infrastructure platforms such as containers and cloud orchestration solutions

Experience with using AI for code generation (e.g. Claude or AMP) would be an advantage

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $160,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
