Battle Bank, N.A. is seeking a Bank Operations & Risk Analyst to support daily banking operations while helping strengthen the Bank’s fraud prevention, operational risk, and control environment.
This role is responsible for reviewing operational queues, transaction activity, fraud alerts, account servicing requests, and processing exceptions; investigating unusual or potentially fraudulent activity; documenting findings and root causes; and escalating risk events, control gaps, or suspicious activity as appropriate. The analyst will partner closely with Compliance, BSA/AML, Information Technology, Client Solutions, and other internal teams to resolve client-impacting issues, support audit and regulatory readiness, reduce operational losses, and promote consistent operating standards across banking operations.
The Bank Operations & Risk Analyst will report directly to the Head of Banking Operations and be a member of the Banking Operations team. This is a full-time position, with a pay range of $80,000 – $100,000 annually depending on experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
- Perform and support daily Banking Operations functions, including account maintenance, deposit operations, payment operations, operational reporting, queue management, exception processing, and client account servicing activities.
- Review, research, resolve, and document operational exceptions, account activity, transaction activity, returned items, processing issues, service requests, and potential control breakdowns.
- Monitor operational work queues, reports, dashboards, system alerts, and exception items to ensure timely completion of tasks, accurate processing, and escalation of unresolved matters.
- Support deposit and client account servicing activities, including documentation review, account updates, new account support, maintenance requests, online banking support, debit card support, ACH support, wire support, and other client-facing banking services.
- Research and resolve client-impacting operational issues in coordination with Client Solutions, Compliance, Information Technology, vendors, and other internal stakeholders.
- Support payment operations by reviewing transaction exceptions, failed or rejected items, returned items, posting issues, transaction research requests, and related operational inquiries.
- Assist with reconciliation, quality control, operational balancing, report validation, and other control activities to ensure accurate and complete operational processing.
- Conduct fraud investigations involving suspected account takeover, unauthorized activity, payment fraud, debit card fraud, ACH or wire concerns, unusual client behavior, suspicious activity referrals, transaction anomalies, and other fraud or operational risk indicators.
- Review fraud alerts, system reports, transaction history, account activity, client communications, documentation, and available supporting evidence to determine whether activity appears authorized, suspicious, fraudulent, or requires additional escalation.
- Prepare detailed fraud investigation notes, case summaries, timelines, decision rationale, loss exposure details, client impact assessments, and recommended next steps for management, Compliance, BSA/AML, audit, and regulatory review.
- Identify and elevate confirmed or suspected fraud events, emerging fraud trends, repeat client or account concerns, control weaknesses, potential suspicious activity, and matters requiring SAR consideration or additional management review.
