Credit underwriting manager (MCA)

Leading NY based, specialty finance firm, which provides asset-based lending, receivables purchasing, and loan acquisitions, is looking to add an underwriting manager to the team.

Underwriting Manager will be responsible for overseeing underwriting operations for small balance commercial receivables and alternative lending products. Reporting to the Director of Credit, this position manages day-to-day underwriting workflows, ensuring timely deal execution, adherence to credit policies, and alignment with the firm’s risk tolerance.

A core focus is team leadership—coaching, mentoring, and developing underwriters to build a high-performing credit function. Need to oversee metrics (how many approvals did an underwriter do daily, weekly etc.).

The role also partners closely with senior leadership to refine underwriting frameworks, improve portfolio monitoring, and enhance reporting and documentation standards.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of credit/underwriting experience, with at least 3 years in team management, and strong expertise in financial analysis, cash flow evaluation, and alternative lending products, such as MCA (Merchant Cash Advance) , and other ABL ones as well.
