We are seeking an experienced operations professional to join our Securities & Derivatives Operations team. This position supports a broad range of capital markets products and operational activities, including securities settlements, derivatives processing, collateral management, reconciliations, operational controls, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, control, and efficiency of daily operations while partnering with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, Technology, and external market participants.
Responsibilities- Support end-to-end processing for securities and derivatives products, including trade settlements, lifecycle events, collateral and margin activities, reconciliations, and exception management.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues by coordinating with internal stakeholders, counter parties, custodians, brokers, and service providers.
- Prepare and review operational, management, reconciliation, and risk reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Maintain and enhance operating procedures, process documentation, and supporting control evidence.
- Support audits, control testing, risk assessments, issue remediation efforts, and business continuity activities.
- Participate in system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and operational projects.
- Perform analysis of operational issues, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency and control effectiveness.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, cross-training, and operational resiliency initiatives within the team.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management, including support for urgent operational requests, staff coverage needs, and management reporting.
- Based on changes in the business work environment, job responsibilities can change, and additional functions and tasks may be added or removed accordingly. Additionally, this position will perform other duties as required, and participate in special projects as deemed necessary and appropriate by Management.
Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent financial services experience.
Experience: Minimum 2-6 years of experience in securities operations, derivatives operations, capital markets operations, middle office, or back-office support within a financial institution. Job Title is dependent on experience.
- Strong knowledge of securities settlement and/or derivatives operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a controlled and regulated environment while managing multiple priorities.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $70K - $95K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
