Senior Manager, Strategic Finance (FP&A) - eCommerce brand (part of a public company)
Hybrid Schedule - 3 days per week in Manhattan Office
I'm working with one of my favorite clients, a dynamic eCommerce brand (~$800m in annual revenue), to hire a commercially-minded Senior Manager, Strategic Finance to be a thought partner and right hand to the Senior Director, Strategic Finance & also work regularly with the CFO.
This is a new role on a growing team with tons of exposure to the c-suite and room for impact.
This is a perfect role for anyone coming out of:
Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or a Strategic Finance seat at a high growth or public company.
This role is particularly awesome because of the Senior Director, Strategic Finance who it reports to - they have worked for huge multi billion global brands and I know them personally - they're really impressive and development of people on their team is a top priority for them. You'll have someone to learn from and who will always go to bat for you.
This is a really exciting time in the business; there are lots of key initiatives going on that you’ll drive forward:
- International & physical expansion: the company is actively evaluating international expansion and opening a new physical showroom, both with executive sponsorship already in place. You'd help build the financial case and model the economics behind both.
- A new competitive market intelligence pack: develop and deliver a competitive market intelligence pack for the c-suite & parent company leadership
- Corporate strategy work for the board: decks, financial storytelling, etc.
- Partnership with our new e-commerce growth leader: put your heads together to analyze and measure what’s actually driving conversion and revenue growth.
They're not looking for someone who wants a traditional FP&A career path - they need someone with strong financial modeling skills, paired with the communication skills to tell a story with the numbers and connect them to their greater business strategy, not just present them.
Responsibilities:- Right hand to the Senior Director, Strategic Finance - run point on strategic projects & key deliverables (like the ones above) – and new ones as they come up, and there will be plenty.
- Financial modeling & growth strategy + GTM analysis
- Own the day-to-day of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, including monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts and the models behind them
- Build board and senior-leadership presentations that translate financial data into a clear, strategic narrative.
- Analyze performance vs. plans, forecasts, market share and competitive market analysis to bring insights to the org
- Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities within finance and the functions it supports
- 4-8+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Equity Research, Private Equity, or FP&A/Strategic Finance in a growing org
- Strong financial modeling skills paired with the judgment to operate in ambiguity and the communication skills to tell a story with numbers, not just present them.
- Open to a range of backgrounds: investment banking (M&A, DCM, or ECM strongly preferred over pure coverage/commercial banking), management consulting (MBB, Big Four strategy, or turnaround and restructuring firms), strategic finance or FP&A at a high growth company, or a strong technical/AI-forward finance profile
- High discretion and professionalism; this person will represent the finance function directly with the parent company
- Consumer, retail, or e-commerce experience is a plus, not a requirement.
- What matters most is analytical horsepower and the ability to learn fast
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred, in Finance or a related field
- Excellent Excel skills; SAP experience a plus
- Base salary of $150,000 - $170,000 + cash bonus + benefits
