Location: New York

FOODMatch is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Cost & Pricing Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will own product costing and pricing analysis across the organization, providing insights that support pricing decisions, protect margins, and help the business respond to changes in product, freight, foreign exchange, and other supply chain costs.

The Cost & Pricing Analyst will be a key Finance partner to Purchasing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Quality Control, Sales, and Customer Service. This individual will maintain accurate product costs and pricing, identify margin risks and opportunities, analyze cost trends, improve processes, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.

Key Responsibilities Cost & Margin Analysis
  • Own and maintain product cost structures across the FOODMatch portfolio, ensuring costs are accurate, current, and reflected in financial and pricing systems.
  • Analyze landed costs, including product, freight, duties, import expenses, foreign exchange, and other relevant cost components.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, and Quality Control to anticipate changes in sourcing, specifications, freight, and other factors affecting product costs.
  • Lead costing for new products by gathering specifications, sourcing information, import methodology, and other cost inputs.
  • Analyze cost and margin changes and recommend pricing actions that support margin objectives and business needs.
  • Partner with Accounting and Purchasing to forecast foreign-currency requirements.
  • Analyze the impact of foreign exchange movements on product costs and incorporate FX assumptions into cost and pricing models.
  • Present key cost and margin findings and recommendations to the CFO.
  • Serve as a key Finance resource for product and customer pricing decisions.
  • Maintain and improve pricing systems, models, and templates to ensure accurate and consistent pricing.
  • Clearly communicate and distribute price changes to all customer channels.
  • Partner with Sales and Sales Support to provide timely pricing for existing customers, new opportunities, and customer negotiations.
  • Lead financial analysis for quarterly and other periodic pricing reviews.
  • Identify customers, products, freight and programs that are not meeting margin targets and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor off-invoice pricing, allowances, rebates, and other customer-specific programs and ensure they are accurately reflected in profitability analysis.
  • Partner with Accounting and the Deduction Specialist to validate deductions, rebates, and customer pricing programs.
Reporting, Controls & Process Improvement
  • Develop reporting that gives Finance and business leaders clear visibility into cost trends, pricing actions, gross margins, and key drivers of profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline cost and pricing processes, models, and reporting.
  • Document costing and pricing methodologies and help establish consistent practices across the organization.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and other Finance initiatives requiring product-level cost and margin analysis.
  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc financial and strategic projects for the CFO
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in cost analysis, pricing, FP&A, financial analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing product costs, pricing, gross margins, and profitability.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to work efficiently with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to understand broader commercial and financial implications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Sales and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with D365 Microsoft Business Central or F&O highly preferred.
  • Experience in food distribution, importing, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
