Job Overview

Scotiabank is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – 3 to support the US Treasury – Liquidity and Analytics team.

This role will provide hands‑on execution support for FR2052a regulatory reporting
, with a focus on data quality, governance, controls, documentation, and end‑to‑end reporting processes.

The ideal candidate will have recent, hands‑on experience with FR2052a Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Reporting in a banking environment, preferably supporting a daily/T+2 reporting process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and support the end‑to‑end FR2052a production process
    .
  • Maintain and document source‑to‑report mappings, key calculations, business rules, and material assumptions.
  • Partner with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Technology, Data Management, and business SMEs to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and maintain BRDs, functional requirements, process flows, and data mapping documentation
    .
  • Support governance and controls, including control inventories, control descriptions, testing evidence, attestations, issue management, and change management.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliations, exception management, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Investigate reporting and data‑quality issues and coordinate sustainable remediation with Technology and business teams.
  • Maintain version control and ensure documentation and evidence are audit‑ready

  • Lead and support UAT
    , including test‑script development, defect management, validation, and sign‑off activities.
  • Support enhancements to regulatory reporting processes and technology solutions.
  • Assess new products, transactions, and business initiatives to determine FR2052a reporting impacts and data requirements.
  • Identify process and control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy and operational resilience.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Treasury, Liquidity Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, or Finance within a banking environment.
  • Hands‑on FR2052a experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of FR2052a reporting requirements, data sourcing, reporting schedules, regulatory interpretations, and governance requirements.
  • Experience with end‑to‑end regulatory report production, including:
  • Data validation
  • Reconciliations
  • Exception management
  • Regulatory submission support
  • Strong experience preparing BRDs, functional specifications, process flows, and data mapping documentation
    .
  • Hands‑on experience with UAT
    , including test scripts, defect management, and validation of reporting enhancements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, Pivot Tables, reconciliations, data analysis, and large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with other liquidity and regulatory reports such as:
  • LCR
  • NSFR
  • FR Y‑15
  • 6G FR2052a
  • Knowledge of banking and capital markets products, including deposits, loans, secured funding, derivatives, prime brokerage, securities financing transactions, and capital markets.
  • Experience with SQL, Axiom, data warehouses, Jira, Confluence, Share Point , or reporting automation.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, or remediation programs.
  • Certifications such as CPA, CFA, FRM, PMP, CBAP, or CDMP are a plus.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on FR2052a subject matter expert who can independently execute regulatory reporting activities, investigate data issues to root cause, identify reporting risks, and translate regulatory requirements into clear business and technology requirements.

The candidate should be comfortable working across Treasury, Finance, Risk, Technology, Data Management, and Operations while maintaining a strong focus on data accuracy, controls, governance, and audit readiness.
