Location: New York
Our client is one of Hollywood's fastest growing media and entertainment companies with offices in NYC that is now looking to bring on a Controller in a newly-created role that will report into the VP of Finance. Net Suite environment.
OFFICES IN NYC // 4 DAYS ONSITE
Key Responsibilities- Own divisional accounting and financial operations, including monthly/quarterly/annual close, commission calculations, tax coordination, and treasury management
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and expense processes in coordination with a shared-services function
- Prepare and review GAAP financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting packages for division leadership
- Coordinate audit and tax support with corporate finance and external advisors; provide schedules and responses to inquiries
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process and update rolling financial forecasts to align with strategic objectives
- Partner with business leaders to analyze revenue, margins, and client profitability; deliver actionable recommendations
- Manage divisional cash-flow planning to ensure operational liquidity and optimal working capital
- Support Net Suite ERP configuration, reporting, and integrations as part of the broader platform strategy
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to protect assets and ensure financial accuracy
- Provide financial input for contract negotiations, collections strategy, and business development opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; background in professional services, media, talent management, sports, or agency settings strongly preferred
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience in a private-equity-backed or high-growth environment is a plus
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to translate financial data into business insight
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across finance and business partner
- Advanced Excel skills and hands‑on experience with Net Suite preferred
