Relationship Manager

Established Commercial Bank is seeking a Relationship Manager to join their New York City Office. This Relationship Manager will oversee the bilateral loan origination process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations bringing in a new portfolio and customers. Experience with syndicated, bilateral and commercial loans. Proven experience in loan origination within a banking environment.

Relationship Manager Responsibilities:

• Relationship Manager will oversee the loan origination process from application to closing, ensuring compliance with internal policies/procedures/manuals, and all applicable Federal and State regulations.
• Ability to review loan applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Relationship Manager will conduct underwriting assessments to evaluate borrower creditworthiness and risk.
• Drive business growth by acquiring large corporate and SME accounts through the promotion of banking solutions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of all loan transactions and communications.
• Relationship Manager will ensure adherence to regulations throughout the lending process.
• Successfully set up commercial / bilateral loan policies/procedures/manuals.
• Engage and collaborate with other departments to streamline the loan processing workflow.
• Relationship Manager will have extensive market expertise with a deep network of professional relationships.
• Maintain and build long-term strategic partnerships and a strong client pipeline nation-wide.
• Ability to bring in new customers and to open up nation-wide loan business with feasible plans.

Relationship Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
• 4+ years of business development, commercial banking, or relationship management of local banking institution experience is required
• Proven experience in loan origination within a banking environment. Prior experience working at an international bank is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting processes and servicing.
• Ability to fulfill and achieve KPIs with incentives.
• Ability to utilize market experience to mentor staff and enhance the team’s overall business development capabilities.
• Familiarity with relevant guidelines, and contract management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with to manage multiple loans.
• Relationship Manager will be responsible for maintaining and building positive relationships with new customers and identifying opportunities to make business growth nationwide.
• Strong skills in influencing, financial statement reviews, sales, customer service, and communication.
• Familiar with commercial & industrial loan market practice, and all applicable State and Federal regulations, and have the ability to build up policy and procedure.
• Ability to work effectively with internal product experts and stakeholders.
• Additional duties and special projects assigned by Senior Management.
