BNY Mellon seeks a Senior Vice President, Credit Risk to lead enterprise-wide credit risk strategy across global businesses. This role oversees credit risk appetite, policies, underwriting standards, and portfolio monitoring for complex counter parties and products. You will partner with business leaders and regulators, enhance risk analytics and stress testing, and chair key risk committees. Lead and develop a global credit risk team while reinforcing a strong culture of integrity, governance, and DEI in a highly regulated, data-driven financial environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide credit risk strategy, governance, and frameworks for BNY's lending and capital markets activities
- Oversee credit risk identification, measurement, stress testing, and portfolio monitoring across global businesses
- Set and refine credit risk appetite, policies, and limits in alignment with regulatory expectations and firm strategy
- Chair or contribute to key risk committees and escalate material credit exposures and concentrations
- Partner with business heads, treasury, and finance to balance growth, capital efficiency, and risk-adjusted returns
- Ensure robust credit underwriting standards, models, and approval processes for counter parties and transactions
- Drive regulatory exam readiness and respond to supervisory findings related to credit risk
- Lead and develop a high-performing global credit risk team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
- Enhance risk reporting, analytics, and data quality to support senior management and board decision-making
- Champion a culture of integrity, control, and DEI within the risk organization
