Chief Executive Officer
Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic and operational leadership for the financial systems and operations within the organization. This executive level role is central to the Health Center’s financial success and sustainability.
As part of the executive team, the CFO will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Board of Directors and executive leadership team to support the Health Center’s mission and strategic priorities.
This position is primarily on-site in New York City, with some remote flexibility as needed.

- Strategic Financial Leadership
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and Board of Directors on all financial matters, including growth opportunities, capital investments, new program developments, and efficiency initiatives.
- Participate with leadership team in strategic planning and analysis of feasibility of short- and long-term goals.
- Lead efforts to identify and evaluate new funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and business models to enhance financial sustainability.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial performance and operational efficiency across the organization.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to drive performance.
- Understand the capabilities and limitations of reports in the Epic EHR system and maximize the usage of Epic’s built-in functionalities.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring realistic financial plans. Communicate budgets and tracking reports for department leaders.
- Oversee financial modeling, budget forecasting, and what-if scenario analysis.
- Revenue Cycle & Reimbursement
- Optimize revenue opportunities from payors – including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial plans – in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinical services lines to analyze and improve aspects of the revenue cycle, including patient registration, coding, billing, claims submission.
- Stay current with changes in healthcare reimbursement policies, regulations, and payment models (e.g., value-based care, alternative payment models).
- Preparation of Medicaid AHCF, Medicare cost report, MCVR, and CHP MCVR.
- Board & Executive Reporting
- Prepare and present clear, concise, and insightful financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and relevant committees (e.g., Finance / Audit Committees).
- Effectively communicate financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Actively participate in Board and Board Committee meetings.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Set goals and performance expectations for the finance department overall, as well as individual team members.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
