Job Description Analyst/Senior Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Analyst or Senior Analyst with expertise in real estate finance. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience using Argus, Excel, and Yardi to support property valuations, portfolio performance tracking, and investment decision-making. This role involves working closely with asset managers, acquisitions teams, and senior leadership to provide accurate financial insights and reporting for both small‑bay industrial and self‑storage assets.

Responsibilities of this role will be split between asset management and acquisition functions.

Responsibilities for Small‑Bay Industrial will include:
  • Research real estate markets and competitive properties and provide asset performance projections based on market conditions
  • Develop and maintain the asset management models quarter over quarter
  • Support company quarterly portfolio forecasting and budgeting efforts by updating portfolio Argus files
  • Track ongoing capex and tenant improvement projects
  • Utilize Yardi for property‑level accounting data and integrate with excel for consolidated variance reporting and analysis
  • Provide analytical assistance to support leasing and capital expenditure decisions
  • Prepare underwriting for new lease opportunities and comparing budget projections
  • Assist with various analyses, including working with the senior management team on special projects
  • Perform detailed financial analysis of new investment opportunities and prepare one‑pager summaries
  • Produce investment memorandums for new acquisitions and present these to committee
  • Help and oversee the due diligence process and closing of new investments and dispositions
  • Provide analysis to support existing asset hold/sell recommendations
  • Conduct ongoing analyses to support decision making related to the business plan of the investment (leasing, capital projects, financing, disposition, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with property management teams and review monthly property reports submitted for each asset
  • Respond to requests from the investment committee, investors, brokers, lenders and property buyers/sellers
  • Modify and update a proprietary discounted cash flow valuation model based on various scenarios and sensitivities. Assist in leasing directives and maintain vacancy schedules (this includes managing leads and assisting future tenants)
Responsibilities for Self‑Storage will include:
  • Provide market research and analysis for identified potential self‑storage developments utilizing Yardi Matrix, Stortrak, and Radius+
  • Enhance/update a proprietary DCF valuation model specifically for self‑storage development that runs from construction through lease‑up and stabilization
  • Track self‑storage third‑party management monthly financials/performance against original projections
  • Perform detailed financial analysis of new development/investment opportunities and prepare one‑pager summaries
  • Assist in providing oversight of the self‑storage third‑party management groups including review of work orders and various day‑to‑day inquiries we receive that pertain to asset management
Require

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, and or related area preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, including: banking, real estate, finance, private equity or asset management
  • A desire to learn and grow within a fast‑paced real estate investment company
  • Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Yardi and Argus Enterprise)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
  • Exceptional written, communication, and organizational skills
  • Occasional travel, and access to a car is necessary
