Front-Office ETF Quant Trader & Researcher

Venture Search is partnered with a Tier 1 proprietary trading firm looking to hire a Quantitative Trader or Researcher to join its Fixed Income ETF trading team in New York.

This is a front-office opportunity to work alongside experienced traders and engineers, developing quantitative models and research that directly influences live trading. You'll play a key role in identifying new opportunities, enhancing existing strategies, and contributing to the continued growth of a high-performing trading business.

The Role

• Develop and enhance quantitative models supporting ETF trading strategies.
• Research market behaviour and identify new trading opportunities through statistical analysis.
• Analyse large market datasets to uncover patterns and improve trading performance.
• Build research tools and infrastructure to support strategy development.
• Partner closely with traders and technology teams to implement research into production.
• Monitor, evaluate and refine models as market conditions evolve.
• Generate and test new quantitative research ideas with direct commercial impact.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or another highly quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years' experience in quantitative trading / research within proprietary trading, market making, hedge funds, or systematic trading.
• Strong Python programming skills and a solid foundation in statistical modelling.
• Experience working with large datasets and developing quantitative research workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• A genuine interest in financial markets, particularly ETFs and systematic trading.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative front-office environment.
