DW Simpson seeks an AVP & Actuary, Chief Pricing Officer to lead pricing strategy and analytics for insurance and consulting clients. In this leadership role, you will design and refine pricing models, oversee rate indications, and provide actuarial guidance on profitability, risk selection, and product development. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders, underwriters, and analytics teams, mentor junior actuaries, and ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
This position offers the opportunity to shape pricing best practices and influence key business decisions across a diverse client portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise pricing strategy and governance for insurance and consulting clients
- Develop, validate, and enhance actuarial pricing models and methodologies
- Oversee rate indications, profitability studies, and portfolio monitoring
- Partner with underwriting and product teams on pricing for new and existing products
- Provide actuarial insight to senior leadership on risk selection and capital impact
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accounting, and internal actuarial standards
- Present pricing recommendations and performance results to executive stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior actuaries and analytical staff
- Drive adoption of advanced analytics and tools in pricing processes
- Collaborate with clients to communicate pricing rationale and market impact
