Director, Financial Analysis — FP&A, Ratings Finance The Team:
The FP&A team within S&P Global Ratings Finance serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership and key corporate functions—including Ratings Finance and Strategy, Growth & Enablement, Compliance, Legal, HR, Corporate FP&A, Controllers, Tax, Real Estate, and Technology. The team provides enterprise-level financial insight, drives disciplined performance management, and informs planning, forecasting, investment decisions, and strategic priorities through rigorous review of actual performance and analysis of financial results.

This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for shaping the financial strategy, performance narrative, and decision support agenda for Compliance, Legal, and broader Ratings functions across key revenue and expense areas. The role leads executive-level analysis of actual performance, financial results, annual and long-range plans, incentive slope modeling, headcount and location strategy, scenario planning, and investment trade-offs. This leader will influence resource allocation, strengthen financial governance, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership, including the Sr.
Director, VP, and CFO. Lead enterprise-level review of actual performance and analysis of revenue and expense results, translating financial trends, risks, and opportunities into strategic recommendations for senior leadership. Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders on annual budgets, three-year strategic plans, operating models, resource allocation, location strategy, and investment decisions. Drive high-impact scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, incentive slope modeling, monthly flash reviews, variance analysis, competitor analysis, regulatory reporting and executive presentations that inform business strategy and financial outcomes.
Act as the senior finance advisor for Compliance, Legal, and other Ratings functions, bringing financial discipline, policy alignment, risk awareness, and strategic perspective to planning and decision-making. Work with senior leadership to provide financial insight & materials for executive leadership, including Power BI reports, PowerPoint presentations, waterfall analyses, CFO reviews, board presentations, QFRs, estimates, and close submissions. Collaborate with FP&A, HR, Work Force Planning team, Controllers, Tax, Legal, and Compliance to improve reporting accuracy, transparency, and process efficiency.

(This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $126,676 to $190,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles, ideally with senior business partnering experience in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, variance analysis, financial modeling experience and management reporting.
- Advanced Excel, financial modeling, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Oracle Financials, Power BI, Smart View, Anaplan, or similar tools preferred.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex financial results, shape the performance narrative, and communicate strategic insights and recommendations to senior executives.
- Strong FP&A, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and financial modeling experience.
