Financial Services Business Valuation - Senior Consultant

Position Summary

Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and implement practical solutions before, during, and after major transformational projects or transactions creating lasting impact.

As a Senior Consultant on the Valuation & Modeling team, you will be responsible for:

• Performing financial reporting valuations for business combinations, including purchase price allocations, enterprise values, intangible assets, and legal entities
• Supporting goodwill and indefinite-lived and long-lived asset impairment analyses for financial reporting purposes
• Conducting valuations for tax purposes across federal, state, local, international, and personal tax matters, including tax purchase price allocations
• Assisting clients with business plan development, strategic investment decisions, and other financial objectives through valuation analyses
• Preparing valuations for derivative securities, debt instruments, employee stock option plans, and regulatory or compliance purposes

Our Valuation & Modeling team provides financial modeling for business planning, transactions, and operational improvements. We conduct valuation for tax purposes, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), litigation, bankruptcy, and risk management. Additionally, we support audit processes with fair value measurements.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting; an MBA and/or CFA designation is a plus5+ years of business valuation and intangible asset valuation consulting experience serving Financial Services clients in the Banking and Insurance sectors
• Demonstrated experience providing client-facing valuation analyses to third-party clients in a consulting or advisory environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of working under ASC 805 and ASC 350, including purchase price allocations, goodwill valuations, and impairment analyses for financial reporting purposes
• Experience conducting valuations for tax purposes across federal, state, local, international, and personal tax matters, including tax purchase price allocations
• Experience applying cost, market, and income valuation approaches and methodologies, including discounted cash flow/dividend discount model, guideline public company, guideline transaction, excess earnings, relief from royalty, with-and-without, comparative…
