Senior Manager, Model Validation

BMO Financial seeks a Senior Manager, Model Validation to lead independent validation of complex risk and financial models across the bank. In this role, you will evaluate model design, data, methodology, and performance for credit, market, and other key models, providing effective challenge and actionable recommendations. You will produce thorough validation reports, support regulatory and audit reviews, enhance validation frameworks, and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent validation of credit, market, and other risk and pricing models across the bank.
• Assess conceptual soundness, data quality, methodology, and performance of models and their implementation.
• Produce high-quality validation reports, documentation, and clear recommendations for remediation.
• Provide effective challenge to model owners and influence model risk governance decisions.
• Support regulatory exams, internal audits, and responses to model risk findings.
• Develop and enhance validation methodologies, standards, and testing frameworks.
• Mentor junior validators and contribute to knowledge sharing across the model risk team.
• Partner with risk, finance, and business teams to explain model limitations and impacts.
