Overview

We are growing and looking for an intelligent, forward-thinking, and motivated team member to join the Workers Compensation Actuarial Pricing team  you’re an ACAS (or near) and excited to work on a collaborative team, solving problems, building strategy, and getting stuff done at a top workers compensation carrier, this is the place for you.

Responsibilities Drive Profitability
  • Calculate aggregate state rate indications
  • Analyze state profitability at a segmented level and Identify areas of opportunity and challenge
  • Recommend rate changes or other actions that will provide the right balance between profitability and growth.
  • Provide actuarial support for quick rate filing approvals, ensuring rate filings are compliant with state regulations
  • Communicate results and insights to Product and other business partners to gain consensus on a go-forward plan of action
Performance Monitoring
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards to track Workers’ Compensation results
  • Track relevant economic trends and industry benchmarks
  • Price large, high deductible and excess Workers Compensation accounts
Additional Contributions
  • Actuarial research projects
  • Planning
  • Reinsurance pricing
  • Support crossline of business sales and pricing initiatives
  • Partnering with the Modeling team to assess predictive model outputs
Qualifications
  • BS, BA or higher degree
  • ACAS or close and pursual of FCAS
  • 4+ years of property-casualty commercial lines insurance experience
  • Workers Compensation pricing experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are a must
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word, and SQL. R or Python knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to build strong relationships and enrich our positive team culture
