A leading private equity investor is looking to add a Vice President to its New York-based investment team
, with a primary focus on opportunities within the Industrials & Manufacturing sector.
- 6-10+ years of experience in private equity
- Proven track record of underwriting and executing control investments and/or meaningful minority transactions.
- Deep knowledge of the Industrials sector, ideally with experience in areas such as HVAC, mechanical services, building systems, engineered products, or related industrial businesses.
- Highly developed financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and due diligence capabilities.
- Strong ability to evaluate businesses, identify key investment risks and opportunities, and build differentiated investment theses.
- Demonstrated understanding of industry trends, competitive landscapes, business models, and management teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior executives, investment professionals, and external stakeholders.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred, but not required.
- High level of intellectual curiosity, commercial judgment, attention to detail, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Lead the evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities across the Industrials sector, with particular emphasis on HVAC, mechanical systems, engineered products, and industrial services.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of prospective investments, including market research, competitive assessment, company diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and investment thesis development.
- Manage transaction processes from initial diligence through closing, coordinating with legal counsel, financing sources, advisors, management teams, and other third parties.
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment bankers, intermediaries, executives, lenders, consultants, and industry contacts to support sourcing and transaction activity.
- Work closely with portfolio company leadership to identify and implement initiatives involving growth, operational improvement, M&A, and strategic expansion.
- Evaluate portfolio performance and help shape ongoing business plans and value-creation strategies.
- Contribute to investment committee discussions, presentations, and decision-making throughout the investment process.
- Mentor and support the development of junior members of the investment team.
