We are working with a leading global financial institution on a VP level position looking for someone to join the Front Office Tax Advisory team and report directly to the U.S. Head of Tax. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to advise front-office teams, management, and tax operations on complex U.S. information reporting and withholding matters while supporting new business initiatives and transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Advise front-office teams, management, and tax operations on U.S. information reporting and withholding matters.
  • Provide tax technical guidance on Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 61, and Qualified Intermediary requirements.
  • Review new business initiatives and transactions for U.S. tax implications and lead domestic/global training on U.S. IRW matters.
  • Review and negotiate U.S. tax provisions in market-standard agreements alongside Legal and front-office teams.
  • Support tax audits and compliance matters and serve as a key point of contact with the IRS on U.S. IRW matters.
  • Represent the organization on U.S. IRW matters with industry advocacy groups.
  • Develop broader expertise in the taxation of financial products and other U.S. federal, state, and local tax matters.
Ideal Background
  • 4-7 years of relevant tax experience within a law firm, accounting firm, or financial institution.
  • JD, CPA, and/or MST preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. information reporting and withholding, particularly Chapters 3, 4, and 61 and QI requirements.
  • Experience with the U.S. taxation of banks, broker-dealers, or other financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of financial products and an interest in developing broader financial products tax expertise.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Comfortable operating independently while collaborating with senior stakeholders across Tax, Legal, Compliance, and the Front Office.
  • Strong judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex, high-impact projects.
