Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary architect and steward of complex and high-value commercial initiatives and partnerships
- Translate dense financial data and analysis into high-impact visual narratives for leadership discussions
- Articulate the rationale behind major investments
- Build flexible financial models to value complex and integrated deals across licensing, advertising, and other revenue streams
- Analyze and aid in negotiation of deal mechanics, including minimum guarantees, revenue shares, and recoupment schedules
- Partner with Legal and Accounting to ensure term sheets translate into sound financial realities
- Own the full lifecycle of deals, tracking actuals against benchmarks and managing P&L impact
- Provide FP&A oversight to course-correct or expand live partnerships
- Integrate live deal performance into rolling forecasts
- Explain variances to leadership and identify trends in audience monetization and rights costs
- 5+ years of experience in corporate development, strategic finance, consulting or investment banking
- Experience performing high stakes evaluation of potential deals, ideally including content licensing
- Deep understanding of negotiation leverage points and how legal clauses impact financial outcomes
- Expert-level financial modeling
- Strong executive presentation development skills
- Deep understanding of commercial deal terms, negotiations, and deal processes
- Experience with key FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- BS in Finance/Economics
- MBA a plus
Demonstrates expertise in financial modeling, deal negotiation, and strategic finance, with a strong ability to translate complex financial data into impactful narratives for leadership. Proven experience in managing the full lifecycle of commercial deals and providing FP&A oversight to optimize partnership performance.
