Counselor, Assistance Program

• Review and evaluate Loan Repayment Assistance Program applications to assist with eligibility determinations
• Resolve LRAP appeals and requests for special review
• Process incoming application documents and ensure required documentation is received
• Assist with audits of LRAP applications for compliance with financial aid guidance and requirements
• Create benefit check requests and coordinate accurate, timely benefit payment processing
• Counsel and advise current students, prospective enrollees, and graduates on institutional aid, borrowing, loan repayment, debt burden, consolidation, and basic financial management
• Organize and index LRAP application documentation
• Conduct outreach to external agencies when necessary
• Respond to LRAP emails, telephone calls, and walk-ins
• Represent LRAP and the School of Law at recruitment events, panels, and information sessions
• Perform related duties assigned by the LRAP administrator

• Bachelor's Degree
• 1+ years relevant experience in a financial aid and/or student services environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies and procedures in a student financial services setting
• Familiarity with automated financial aid processing systems

Demonstrates expertise in evaluating Loan Repayment Assistance Program applications and ensuring compliance with financial aid regulations. Proficient in counseling students on financial management and navigating financial aid processes.
