The KYC Operations Analyst (BSA/AML) supports the execution of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) activities across settlement services, card programs, and retail banking. This associate-level role provides hands-on experience in KYC operations, focusing on customer onboarding, due diligence reviews, documentation quality, and risk identification in support of the Bank’s BSA/AML compliance framework.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to develop expertise in KYC, AML, and financial crime risk management within a regulated banking environment.

Responsibilities KYC Operations Support and Analysis
  • Assist in the review of KYC onboarding packages for settlement services, card, and retail banking customers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform initial and ongoing due diligence reviews, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for higher-risk customers, as required.
  • Analyze customer information, ownership structures, and supporting documentation to identify potential risk indicators.
  • Document findings clearly and consistently, ensuring alignment with KYC procedures, regulatory expectations, and audit standards.
  • Maintain high-quality KYC files and supporting documentation to support regulatory exams and internal reviews.
Screening, Monitoring & Risk Identification
  • Conduct watchlist, sanctions, and adverse media screening in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identify and document potential AML risk factors, typologies, and red flags, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support program changes for existing customers across assigned business lines.
  • Assist with data validation and remediation efforts as needed.
Procedures, Quality & Process Support
  • Follow established KYC procedures and contribute feedback to support continuous improvement of workflows and controls.
  • Assist with quality control activities to ensure KYC reviews meet internal standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Escalate identified risks, data gaps, or documentation deficiencies to senior analysts or management with clear summaries and recommendations.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting practical enhancements to improve accuracy and timeliness.
Collaboration & Development
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including AML, fraud, operations, and business partners, to resolve KYC-related inquiries and obtain required documentation.
  • Actively participate in training and development activities to build knowledge of KYC, BSA/AML regulations, and bank products.
  • Contribute to team discussions by asking thoughtful questions and sharing observations to support team learning and consistency.
Time Management & Execution
  • Effectively prioritize daily work and manage multiple reviews simultaneously to meet established service-level expectations.
  • Maintain organized work papers and tracking to support transparency and accountability.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or related field is required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related fields; internships in financial services or fintech are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of compliance and risk management principles, with a desire to learn.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, be self-sufficient, and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
