VP Controller, Corporate Functions

Our client is an investment banking advisory firm. They seek a VP Controller, Corporate Functions to join their Manhattan, NY office.

• Lead financial oversight of technology investments, including budgeting, capitalization, and cost governance
• Manage the annual technology investment plan and identify cost trends, accounting issues, and optimization opportunities
• Consolidate global financial results and deliver reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making
• Enhance financial reporting processes by streamlining workflows and improving reporting efficiency
• Support compensation planning through financial modeling, tracking, and analysis
• Analyze budget-to-actual results and prepare variance reports and presentations for senior leadership
• Partner with procurement, accounts payable, and finance teams to ensure accurate accounting and expense reporting
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including accruals, reclassifications, and financial reporting
• Assist with regulatory filings and accounting policy initiatives in collaboration with technical accounting teams
• Oversee accounting for strategic projects, contracts, and capitalized assets while supporting process improvements and system enhancements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8/9+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related role
• IT/Technology finance required
• Financial services industry required
• Experience with Technology Investment accounting, capitalization, and cost governance
• Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, accuracy, and analysis
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
