Base Salary: $120k – $175k + Bonus
Overview:
This Senior Associate or AVP-level credit risk opportunity sits within the Institutional Banking & Markets Credit Risk function of a well-established global financial institution, offering independent credit analysis and oversight across a diversified portfolio with a primary focus on Energy, Commodities & Sustainability alongside broader corporate lending. The role combines rigorous credit analysis — spanning project finance, corporate lending, and complex structured transactions — with active portfolio monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration across Risk, Front Office, Product, Legal, and global teams.
It's an ideal fit for a credit-trained professional with 3–6 years of experience who brings energy or commodities sector knowledge, strong financial modeling skills, and the ability to provide clear, well-supported credit recommendations in a fast-paced, globally connected environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed credit analysis and prepare high-quality credit recommendations for complex project finance and corporate lending transactions including syndicated and bilateral facilities
- Assess financial, commercial, legal, and structural risks by analyzing borrower creditworthiness, cash flow forecasts, security structures, and recovery outcomes across energy, commodities, sustainability, and diversified corporate portfolios
- Partner with Relationship Managers and Product teams to develop robust credit proposals including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and stress testing
- Monitor an assigned portfolio through interim and annual reviews; assess covenant compliance, industry trends, portfolio performance, and emerging risks proactively
- Support independent challenge to business stakeholders ensuring transactions align with the institution's risk appetite, credit policies, and regulatory requirements
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Risk, Front Office, Product, Legal, and global teams to support informed and timely credit decisions across time zones
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit risk frameworks, analytical methodologies, policies, and reporting processes
- Evaluate transactions across a diversified portfolio with a strong focus on renewable energy and infrastructure alongside multinational corporate clients across multiple sectors
