Our client is a top-performing hedge fund seeking to continue its ambitious growth by hiring a US credit-focused investment professional to join its market-leading credit team. The firm invests across the capital structure, pursuing opportunities in high yield, stressed and distressed credit, special situations, and event-driven investments. The team is looking to identify a high-caliber investment professional capable of evaluating complex credit situations and generating differentiated investment ideas across the US credit universe.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior investors in sourcing, underwriting, and executing investments across a broad range of credit opportunities. The role offers exposure to both performing and non-performing situations, including stressed, distressed, restructuring, liability management, and post-reorganization investments.
Key Investment Responsibilities- Conduct detailed fundamental credit analysis across a diverse range of industries and issuers
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, capital structures, recovery values, and downside scenarios
- Analyze restructuring situations, liability management exercises, exchange offers, bankruptcy proceedings, and other complex credit events
- Assess legal documentation, credit agreements, indentures, court filings, restructuring support agreements, and other transaction-related materials
- Develop investment theses through rigorous fundamental research, industry analysis, and company-specific due diligence
- Present investment recommendations to senior investment professionals and investment committees
- Monitor existing portfolio positions and evolving catalysts while identifying opportunities to add to, reduce, or exit investments
- Engage with management teams, advisors, creditors, restructuring professionals, and external counter parties as part of the investment process
- Evaluate relative value opportunities across bonds, loans, claims, and other securities within a given capital structure

The team is interested in speaking with investment professionals who possess strong credit analytical capabilities and a demonstrated interest in distressed and special situations investing. Relevant backgrounds include investors with experience across distressed credit, special situations, high yield, and other opportunistic credit strategies, as well as candidates with a strong background in financial restructuring.
The preferred seniority is at the VP/Director level, although the firm is open to considering exceptional candidates across the seniority spectrum.
