The Assistant Deputy Superintendent for Field Examination leads the Mortgage Banking - Real Estate Finance unit's examination operations within the New York State Department of Financial Services. The role supervises examiners and specialists, oversees field examinations of regulated entities, coordinates with federal and state regulators, and manages enforcement actions and consent orders. The position reports to the Deputy Superintendent and requires extensive banking experience and supervisory leadership of large examination teams.
Key qualifications:
- At least 11 years of banking experience with strong knowledge of banking policies, procedures, and bank examination standards
- At least 5 years of experience supervising a large team of examiners
- At least 5 years of regulatory experience supervising large complex institutions and conducting mandated examinations
- Ability to supervise and participate or lead on various projects
- Strong written and oral communication skills
