Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

A large, multi-entity organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical initiatives. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and finance teams across multiple operating companies and locations to drive financial performance, enhance reporting capabilities, and support long-term business strategy.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines traditional FP&A responsibilities with financial oversight, process improvement, automation, and team development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the consolidated annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning processes across multiple business units and operating locations.
- Oversee preparation of financial projections, operating plans, and executive reporting packages.
- Partner with senior finance leadership to develop and communicate financial insights supporting strategic decision-making.
- Manage enterprise-wide forecasting, including revenue, margin, backlog, cash flow, working capital, and profitability analysis.
- Develop executive-level presentations, board materials, forecast reviews, and strategic planning analyses.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reporting efficiency, process standardization, and enhanced financial visibility.
- Lead advanced financial modeling, trend analysis, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and risk identification efforts.
- Build and enhance executive dashboards and analytics tools to improve performance monitoring and business intelligence capabilities.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
- Oversee Headquarters G&A Finance activities, including review of journal entries, allocations, expense reporting, and financial controls.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate financial performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support operational decision-making.
- Manage and mentor finance professionals across multiple locations while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Support talent development through coaching, performance management, training, and succession planning initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant FP&A leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Finance, etc.) and/or CPA, CMA, or CFA designation preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-entity, multi-location, or complex organizational structures.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale financial planning processes and drive organizational change.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success managing and developing finance teams.
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills,
- experience leveraging modern financial systems, business intelligence tools, reporting platforms, and data analytics technologies.
- Ability to effectively influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
