Position Summary:
RSM is seeking an Associate for its Value Acceleration Solutions (VAS) team within its rapidly growing Deal Services practice. The Deal Services practice offers our clients end-to-end transaction support, from deal strategy and readiness through diligence, execution, and integration.
The VAS team helps clients identify, quantify, and validate revenue and cost synergies to strengthen deal rationale and improve transaction competitiveness and helps clients manage operational disruption, address stranded costs to align people, processes and systems, and realize the value formulated in the deal thesis. Team members across the deal lifecycle with RSM consultants from other teams and benefit from extensive exposure to senior investment professionals, company executives, and firm leadership.
Responsibilities:- Support private equity and corporate clients with analysis of potential revenue synergies, cost synergies, and cost takeout opportunities related to acquisitions and integrations
- Analyze and synthesize complex data to develop concise, decision-ready outputs that support synergy and cost takeout quantification
- Assess businesses being carved out from larger enterprises to understand current operating structures, headcount, costs, and separation implications
- Develop standalone headcount and cost models across functional areas to inform integration, separation, and value realization planning
- Leverage research, benchmarking tools, and transaction experience to support analyses in a fast-paced, value-driven deal environment
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans for post-merger integration and separation management office work streams, including milestones, dependencies, owners, and timelines
- Track workstream progress against established plans, identify risks, issues, and decision points, and support timely escalation to project leadership
- Maintain recurring status materials, including action item trackers, initiative logs, milestone updates, and leadership reporting for integration and separation programs
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather updates, validate deliverables, and promote alignment across work streams during planning and execution of integrations and separations
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Understanding of core corporate functions and related revenue, cost, and operational performance drivers
- Ability to travel locally and nationally up to 40%, with access to reliable transportation as needed
- Minimum 3.5 GPA preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team
- Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office(primarily excel andpowerpoint)
