Job DescriptionAs an Associate, you will:
- Work with senior professionals covering Software and Digital Media clients
- Learn about a range of end-markets: supply chain software, proptech, education technology, HCM software, semiconductors, sports tech, etc.
- Support teams working on M&A as well as equity / debt capital raises
- Research economic and industry-specific developments
- Analyze financial statements and other investment attributes of publicly traded as well as private companies
- Help prepare marketing materials and other presentations
- Build relationships with clients and prospective clients
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Strong academic track record, with a background in finance, accounting, business or economics
- 3-4 years of investment banking experience (technology coverage preferred)
- Solid understanding of the entire sell-side M&A process, along with proven experience in successfully closing deals
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical abilities, as well as a deep understanding of financial statements
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A high degree of intellectual curiosity and a desire to never stop learning
- Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work product
- Ability to manage rapid timelines and proactively manage any potential conflicts
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, make informed decisions, and act independently
- Comfort presenting to and engaging with senior colleagues, clients, and counter parties
