A leading international law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level Associate to join its highly regarded Sovereign Finance practice in New York.

The practice advises sovereign governments, sub-sovereigns, state-owned enterprises and international financial institutions on sophisticated and innovative transactions across the global capital markets.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex international transactions, including:

• Sovereign bond offerings
• Liability management transactions
• Derivatives
• Financings and refinancings
• Sovereign debt restructurings
• Cross-border and structured finance transactions
• Transactions involving international financial institutions and development banks

The team works with a range of prominent international institutions and market participants, offering associates significant exposure to high-profile transactions that have shaped the development of sovereign finance markets globally.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• JD graduation between 2022 and 2025
• Fluency in both Portuguese and Spanish
• Experience in capital markets, finance, sovereign debt, project finance or related cross-border transactional work
• Outstanding academic credentials
• Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills
• An interest in sophisticated international transactions and emerging-market finance
• The ability to work collaboratively with clients, counter parties and colleagues across jurisdictions
