Job Duties:

Associate, Banker with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Structure, analyze, and execute financing, including bonds, private placements, debentures, securitizations, loans, and liability management transactions on behalf of Latin American borrowers across sectors including sovereigns, infrastructure, corporate and banking sectors. Support live deal execution, including running due diligence processes, negotiating offering agreements and other legal documents with lawyers and financiers, and liaising with other investment banks and other parties within the team.

Review financial and operating contracts, such as credit agreements, collateral documents, concession contracts, among others, to input and contemplate into financial modeling, projected cashflows, and term and condition structuring. Attend deal and non-deal roadshows, and assist companies in preparation of marketing materials to present to potential buyers of the companies or their securities. Conduct analysis of a client’s financing needs and its capital structure within the framework of its short, medium, and longer-term business strategy.

Identify structural elements of bonds and advise on choices involved in the structuring of a bond issue. Analyse accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections and models as prepared in various formats. Review proprietary financial models, and prepare Discounted Cash Flow, Debt Sizing and Structuring, Comparable Companies, and Precedent Transactions analysis in various sectors. Mentor junior analysts and interns, supporting their professional development.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field such as Civil Engineering, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior employment must include two (2) years of experience with: conducting credit analysis, financial modeling, including operating, discounted cash flow, and leveraged buyout models, and performing due diligence, research, and transaction documentation to evaluate companies’ financial positions, cash flows, capital structures, and refinancing capacity;

providing financial advice to companies in various sectors regarding capital raising, financing, and other financial transactions with more than $200M in deal value; supporting the structuring, execution, and distribution of equity and debt financing transactions, including coordination with rating agencies and capital markets specialists on transaction terms, pricing, and syndication; preparing market pitch presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint to review and approve deals with clients, senior bankers, internal and external investment committees, and rating agencies;

and presenting to senior executives of clients in different sectors (such as Technology, Media and Telecom, Oil and Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, Consumer, among others) on corporate strategy and financing alternatives including in Latin America markets. International travel required 20% of time to Latin America region to meet with clients to execute due diligence in financial transactions and conduct marketing pitches.

Salary Range:
Annual base salary for this New York, New York-based position is: $175,000 - $200,000.
