Current is hiring a leader to build a dedicated first-line Fraud Risk capability. Today, key risk decisions, from onboarding controls to fraud detection to transaction limits, are made within the Payments team. As the Lead PM in charge of Fraud Risk, you will think through the discovery, architecture, and roadmap of these systems end-to-end.

Success in this role depends on genuine fluency in how fraud risk systems work mechanically: rules engines, device and behavioral signals, case management, model-based decisioning - not just familiarity with fraud strategy at a high level.

You’ll work day-to-day alongside PMs on Payments and Core Processing, since fraud risk decisions touch the same rails, ledgers, and money-movement systems they own. You’ll also partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Compliance/Legal, and Customer Service leadership to build a fraud risk function that protects members and the business while enabling Current to grow.

• You will define and drive the roadmap for Current's first-line fraud risk capabilities, starting largely from scratch and shaping discovery into a sequenced, prioritized plan.
• You will own product strategy for KYC and account-related risk controls - onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and account access - balancing member experience against fraud while ensuring compliance.
• You will lead the design and evolution of fraud detection, prevention, and resolution capabilities, including how signals (device, behavioral, network, transactional) feed into decisioning, e.g., specifying exactly how a new account velocity rule should evaluate, what data it pulls, and what action it triggers.
• You will own delivery end-to-end, from detailed spec through engineering build, QA, staged rollout, and production launch.
• You will own transaction limits, rules, and controls across products and rails, including how they’re set, tested, and adjusted over time.
• You will, alongside engineers, debug and root-cause production issues, e.g., a rule misfiring or a spike in false declines, by tracing the issue through logs, data pipelines, and system flows.
• You will lead the evaluation, integration, and ongoing optimization of third-party fraud risk vendors and modern AI/agentic tooling, ensuring Current gets full value from these tools while building proprietary capability when it matters.
• Leverage and architect AI workflows and autonomous agents to automate risk operations, investigation summaries, and fraud role discovery.
• You will partner with Compliance/Legal to ensure fraud risk product decisions meet regulatory obligations (BSA/AML, CIP) without over-indexing on compliance at the expense of a workable member experience.

You have spent your career in fraud risk, and you understand these systems from the inside, not just fraud strategy, but how the systems are actually built and operated: rules engines, signal ingestion, model scoring, case management, and the trade-offs between friction and loss. You are comfortable with ambiguity and energized by 0-to-1 work, and are excited about tackling problems from scratch, rather than optimizing an already-mature system.
