Assistant Vice President, Tax

Our client, a well-established global alternative investment manager, is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join their dynamic Tax team in New York City. This is a high-visibility role on a small, fast-paced team focused on management company and corporate tax. Because the team runs lean, you’ll gain broad exposure, lead strategic tax projects, and work directly with senior leaders across finance, legal, treasury, and operations.

The annual base salary range is $155,000 to $185,000, with total compensation up to $240,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

Job Responsibilities

• Own the quarterly ASC 740 provision process from current and deferred tax calculations through rate reconciliations, return-to-provision, and FIN 48 documentation
• Partner with corporate accounting on tax footnote disclosures
• Review purchase price allocations, basis differences, quarterly estimates, K-1s, and federal, state, local, and international returns prepared by outside advisors.

Job Requirements

• 7+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a mix of public and private
• CPA is preferred
• Hands-on ASC 740 provision experience is required
• All industries will be considered, with asset management, operating partnership, or management company experience a plus
