Following a recent discussion with a Chambers-ranked Fund Finance Partner at an elite AmLaw 50 firm, I am representing an off-market Counsel opportunity within a practice that is undertaking a significant long-term investment as part of its broader growth strategy.

While already advising a number of globally recognised sponsors and multi-billion-dollar investment platforms, its objective over the coming years is to win an increasing share of the sponsor-side mandates typically associated with the V5. With the client base already in place and demand continuing to grow, the team is investing ahead of that trajectory.

The opportunity sits alongside a Chambers-ranked partner who has spent her entire career at the firm, building a deeply embedded sponsor practice and longstanding relationships across the private capital market. Unlike many firms pursuing growth through large-scale lateral hiring, this is an established platform with institutional backing, a proven client base and a clear strategic direction.

As discussed directly with the partner, the role offers two potential paths:

• The opportunity to establish yourself as the firm's go-to NAV finance specialist, helping shape a growing and increasingly sophisticated liquidity solutions practice.
• The opportunity to align closely with a major fund client relationship, with approximately 60-70% of your practice dedicated to GP-side work and the balance comprising broader financing mandates generated through that relationship.

Beyond traditional fund finance work, the practice also advises on a range of high-profile sponsor-driven transactions, including matters involving sports and sports-related assets.
