As a Graduate Intern, Economics with PNC’s Chief Investment Office organization, you will be based in New York City, NY.

The PNC Chief Investment Office (CIO) Economics team provides economic forecasting, scenario design, modeling, and thought leadership across the organization. The team develops macroeconomic scenarios for CECL, CCAR, and other risk management applications, produces forecasts for internal and external stakeholders, supports strategic decision-making through economic analysis, and engages with clients through presentations and market insights. Team members work at the intersection of economics, risk management, and financial services, leveraging quantitative models and expert judgment to assess economic trends and their implications for PNC and its clients.
Job Responsibilities- Conducting economic and financial research to support macroeconomic forecasting, scenario design, and market analysis.
- Analyzing economic data, financial markets, and emerging trends to identify risks, opportunities, and key drivers of the outlook.
- Assisting in the development and evaluation of quantitative models used for forecasting, stress testing, and risk management.
- Preparing presentations, data visualizations, and written insights that communicate economic and market developments to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Currently pursuing a master’s or PhD degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field, with an anticipated graduation date within the next 12 months.
- Strong foundation in economic theory, econometrics, statistics, and empirical research methods, demonstrated through coursework, research, or professional experience.
- Experience working with economic, financial, or large-scale datasets and applying quantitative methods to analyze complex problems.
- Proficiency in analytical and programming tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, Stata, SAS, or similar platforms used for data analysis and modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
