VP of Government Affairs

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a VP of Government Affairs
, based in New York, NY
. This senior leadership position is ideal for a seasoned government relations and public policy executive with deep experience in the energy, climate, or nuclear sectors.

You will be responsible for developing and executing Hadron Energy's comprehensive government affairs strategy at the federal, state, and local levels. You will lead our engagement with Congress
, the Department of Energy (DOE), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Department of Defense (DOD), and other key agencies. This role is critical for shaping policy, securing government funding and grants, and building the strategic relationships necessary to support our reactor licensing and commercial deployment.

Qualifications & Skills ets
  • Bachelor's, Master's, JD, or MBA in Public Policy
    , Political Science
    , Law
    , Business Administration
    , or a related field
  • 10+ years of senior-level experience in government affairs
    , lobbying
    , or public policy
    , with significant experience in the energy, climate, or nuclear sector
  • Proven track record of successfully securing federal funding
    , appropriations
    , and DOE grants (e.g., LPO, ARDP)
  • Deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes
  • Established, bipartisan network of contacts in Congress
    , the White House
    , and federal agencies (especially DOE
    , NRC
    , DOD
    )
  • Experience shaping policy and regulations related to advanced energy or nuclear technologies
  • Ability to translate complex technical and commercial goals into a clear public policy strategy
  • Exceptional strategic planning, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Passion for clean energy and a startup-minded approach to problem-solving
